Poolewe

From Riverside car park, you can choose from a variety of walks:

● Take a gentle stroll along the shore of the River Ewe and enjoy the opportunity to stop and admire the views from several benches on the route. At one point you can look down at the remains of the Red Smiddy, the site of ancient iron works (early 17th century). Admire the stunning views up the river Ewe, with the peaks of Beinn Àirigh Charr in the distance.

● A rewarding circular walk takes you along the road and track to Kernsary, then around Loch Kernsary on a path, returning to the car park (allow 3hrs to complete this 5.5miles / 9km walk). Probably more rewarding to follow it in a clockwise direction for the best views.

 

● More strenuous hikes into the Wilderness beyond start along this road. Plan your route and wear suitable clothing & footware.
